The Sunshine Coast, Queensland dog friendly beaches

The Sunshine Coast beaches stretch for over 60km giving dog owners plenty of options for a day out down the beach

The top 3 picks are below

1) Boardwalk Beach

The name of the beach reflects the picturesque boardwalk that meanders through the rainforest, dune vegetation and mangroves before finally arriving to the beach entrance. The beach itself permits dogs providing they remain on a leash at all times from beach access points 76 - 131.

2) Point Cartwright Beach

Parking at 1 Pacific Boulevard gives you a great lookout over Point Cartwright Beach. The beach itself is a designated off leash exercise area from the eastern side of Point Cartwright headland, south to Gulai Street (Beach access 198 to 201). The access point from 1 point Pacific Boulevard is via a steep set of stairs and a boardwalk which give you some great photo opportunities on the way down.

If you don't fancy the walk down to the beachfront, to the left of the car park is a walking trail (on leash) that leads to the lighthouse giving you a great view over the headland.

3) Dicky Beach

Unlike the other beaches, Dicky Beach is a bit smaller with less waves. The sheltered cove provides a calm place to swim with a beautiful view. This beach is on leash only and dogs are permitted from the end of Cooroora Street towards Moffatt Beach.
